CSC Consultants Renamed as Centre for Leadership Development

CSC Consultants (CSCC) will be renamed as Centre for Leadership Development (CLD) from 15 January 2010.

In 2007-2008, CSCC was repositioned internally as the focal point within Civil Service College (CSC) to bring together the various strands of leadership development work undertaken by CSC. Since then, CSCC has been increasingly engaged in leadership development work and embarked on a number of leadership development initiatives that leverages on its inherent capabilities and expertise. Some initiatives include the design and implementation of a development centre for Management Associates, the design and delivery of leadership programmes in partnership with the Institute of Policy Development (IPD) as well as the development of a CSC pool of coaches to support the roll-out of executive coaching in the Singapore Public Service.

The new roles played by CSCC leverages on our capabilities and experience in the areas of psychometric testing, talent assessment and development.  The re-naming of CSCC to CLD more appropriately reflects its increasing involvement in leadership assessment, leadership research and leadership development work.  CLD will, however, continue to provide consultancy services in its current selection and assessment portfolio, especially in the support of testing and assessment of PSC scholarship candidates.

CLD remains committed to developing a pipeline of talent that are inspired to lead and drive change within the Public Service as well as in supporting public sector organisations in their talent management needs.

Centre for Leadership Development (CLD) provides leadership assessment, leadership development and leadership research services. 

In leadership assessment, CLD provides psychometric testing and competency assessment services to help Public Service organisations assess and select their talent.  CLD has been instrumental in helping the Public Service Commission (PSC) and other organisations in their scholar assessment and selection of other key talents.

In leadership development, CLD provides inputs to the design of leadership modules offered by CSC by working with CSC departments and external vendors/partners to integrate learning objectives as well as to incorporate relevant interventions to provide a holistic approach to the development of public sector leaders. The interventions include individual assessments, 360 degree feedback and executive coaching as well as pre- and post-programme activities. 

In leadership research, CLD seeks to provide greater understanding and insights into the nature of public sector leadership, its demands and challenges and more effective approaches to leadership development. CLD does this by conducting in-house research as well as partnering with various leadership and academic institutions to develop a relevant research agenda as well as conduct applied research.
